User Cooperation versus Multiple-Access-Channel with Dedicated-Relay using Network Coding

چکیده

User cooperation is a communication strategy where transmitting users share their resources to help each others’ transmission for reliable delivery of their message at destination. Multiple-access-channel with Dedicated-relay (MAC-DR) is a MAC channel, where there are more than one transmitters, single receiver, and a fixed or dedicated node which act as a relay for transmitting users. In this paper, we investigate network coded user cooperation and MAC-DR, using network coding. With extensive simulations, we show that our proposed block-Markov impressed network coded user cooperation strategy outperforms MAC-DR using network coding. They both show symmetrical performance only if the inter-user and user-relay distances are held constant.
